 Fasa University of Medical Sciences (FUMS) was established in 1975 by Professor Ronaghi under the supervision of world Health Organization (WHO), basically with the goal of research on the health issues of the territory and training medical doctors in a social accountability context. So medical school was called a school without wall.This medical school was promoted to a university with adding some other fields of study rather than medicine. On the basis of the recommendation of the founder of the university, FUMS Vice Chancellor for Research has primarily focused on the fulfilling the needs of the territory under the authority of this university. Some national mega projects related to determination of the risk factors of the diseases adopted from the deputy of research and technology of the Ministry of health as one of the principles of national Persian cohort study)Fasa Persian Cohort Studyon about a total of 13 thousands of people of two ranges of Ages, adults, and youth.

Non communicable diseases Research CenterNCDRC(was founded by the deputy of research and technology in Fasa University of medical sciences to combat the main reasons of morbidity and mortality of the people in the territory of this university including cardiovascular, neurological and metabolic diseases. Also psychiatric disorders were the main target of researchers in the cohort study of youthTwo important integrated disease registries were founded alsoFaRSH and FaRMIstanding for Fasa registeries of systolic heart failure and myocardial infarction

Rapid development of research on the Fields of basic Sciences and hiring some faculty members in different specialities in both basic and clinical medical departments, University research was also focused on projects leading to products by interdisciplinary approach. Molecular and cellular studies were designed on a biotechnology basis. Moreover, due to people's desire, another special concern was seeking for the modern evidences to analyse the benefits and possible hazards of the Persian medicine, based on the traditional practice of medicine in more than recent 1000 years history of Iran

Fasa University of medical sciences support local, national and international researches that fulfill the aims and scopes and the priorities of research in this University. The vice chancellor of research encourages international collaborations. As well as the outstanding increase of the quality and quantity of research, the percentage of papers with international collaboration is strongly rising 

Moreover, the deputy of research encourages establishment of knowledge -based innovative products and companies, offering the facilities of the development center in the university.

The deputy of research has developed two medical journalsGalen Medical Journal and the journal of Fasa University of medical sciences.These journals work Independently now.

Invitation for collaborative research on myocardial infarction and systolic heart failure

FaRSH and FaRMI are two integrated registries that is related to systol heart diseases as systolic heart failure and myocardial infarction. Cardiovascular disease is the first cause of death in the world and in the Fasa region. Invite epidemiologists and cardiology and other scientists related to the field of cardiovascular diseases to work in different aspects of heart diseases using the invaluable database prepared

Invitation for collaborative research on Fasa PERSIAN Cohort study

After about years of gathering data in Fasa area, a big database has been produced read about 17 million variable figures.Vice Chancellor for Research in FUMS invites cardiologists and other related scientists can be invited to work todether on " heart disease project" by using this valuable database. Data mining studies, using artificial intelligence and augmented reality, epidemiological research on disease prevalence and the risk factors of noncommunicable disorders and longitudinal studies to follow cause and effect Relations in health events or among the subjects can generally be practiced for these collaborative studies.
